Mk2 1600 race car / potential road car

Very regretful sale due to funds needed as I have another escort on the way and a baby being born!! I've not long had the car and have made a couple of mods, but am selling at what it cost me plus freight.

This is a nice 2 door 1600 escort that's currently in race spec. Car would be perfect for someone just looking to get into racing and aiming to go to track days or sprints, or could easily be converted to a road car. The pictures were taken this week, so this is as the car stands. It is a race car, so although the body overall is good, the paintwork is generally not the best and there's also some chips and marks here and there. Other points are:

Bad Points
- Paint good for a race car, but isn't the best and would need a re-spray to look like a nice road car.
- Shell is generally solid, but some rust in spare wheel well, passenger foot well (badly repaired with a small plate), bottom of drivers door on one corner and under the lip of the boot. There's a couple of other bits here and there, but nothing major or would be requiring action for an" roadworthy. It's not a show car by any means, but a very solid car as you can see from pictures.
- Small holes in front inner wing where battery tray has been badly removed.
- Aerial removed, but hole still not filled.
- Door cards are tatty and don't go with overall look of the car in my opinion
- would need smaller carb for road use ideally

Good points
- All the money has been spent on the engine. It has been built to formula ford spec and revs to an indicated 8,500 rpm (you would need an accurate dyno to verify, but from my experience, it must be pushing at least 120 bhp at the wheels!)
- Rebuilt Weber 38 carb (it's a pig to start from cold due to the high volume of fuel required once running, so I may ship with smaller carb too for ease of shipping by transport company).
- New 20 litre fuel cell
- New fuel pump.
- Electronic ignition
- Locked diff
- Coilover front suspension with adjustable camber
- Cut-off swtches with battery re-located inside
- Bucket seat, firewall, cage, harness, etc.
- Alloys with semi-slicks
- Original steel front quarter bumbers
- RS 3 spoke steering wheel
