Well its all over for another year and what a great show. The cars were parked in the pit area for the drags so there was plenty of asphalt to walk on. There was a band with a quite adequate sound system and from eleven on entrants were running the strip, so not just a static display but plenty of action too. I think they underestimated the crowds because the food outlets had long ques all day.
Unfortunately my capri was a late scratching because something in the front left suspension came loose on the saturday and it was a bit far to go with bad steering shake. Never mind i hopped in a xb coupe and enjoyed the trip down. We got there after a pretty cold trip with no heater. I jumped out thinking i will warm up now but what the--
it was minus 2, i thought i was gunna die.
Soon the capris started to roll in and i was wondering how many would make it because i knew that not many from the northside would be there but eventualy about 10 lined up with a couple of new ones(to me) and a few more in the paddock. Not so bad for us. One of the pleasures of the day is to catch up with the capri boys and see what theyve all been up to. A pretty good mix of capris too fom v6 to 4 cyl, factory spec to modified, lots of different ideas.
Other cars? yeh its an all ford show so there were hundreds of them even an immaculate ford T which used to be a taxi in ipswich 100 years ago.
Next year promises to be even better now that there is room to expand and spectators can see cars in action, resolve now to be there.
I have some pics of the capri lineup, i will post them soon. Cheers,.....ron.
