Connect the purge line to inlet manifold vacuum but put a ball Bearing or similar in the hose to block it. Or for neatness and shorter hose leave it in that t piece just block the hose.
This will make your canister look connected and not cause any running issues.

Just need to find some ball bearings the right size to suit!.

haha, I have a jar full of all different sizes. Can use anything really, I use ball bearings coz they're inconspicuous and easy to fit. Another idea is to cut a 4mm(or any suitable diameter)bolt and slide it in the hose.....

cheers RS........might go down the bolt path until I find some suitable sized bearings.
 
Ive got that tingling feeling that things are getting close to a running car!. :)
 
THe only thing ill have left to do is the outside body work (respray and general ding reapirs).........I was going to leave it for a while, but I just know its going to irk me too much having done all this other work.!
