Exhaust Coatings / Heat treatment

Looking at getting my exhaust manifold and dump pipe heat treated.
Prefer somewhere in Vic but happy to post out for the right job.

Anyone done this or similar?

Who did you use?
Process/treatment?
Cost?
Durability?
Effectiveness?

Thanks, Shaun

i got the guys at pacemaker in adelaide to do mine,
i wish i chose to go black in hindsite, but from memory it was only $280 (don't quote me on that)
they charge per runner, but i was very impressed with the end result,
Im yet to start it but it looks the goods.

Over the years I've had 6 sets of 4 cylinder headers coated with the 'polished alloy' look ceramic coating. Four done by HPC in Leongatha which required couriering down there & back. The last two jobs were done by MODERN PLATING in Oakleigh who have branched out into ceramic coatings too. You may have seen their adds on the old ch31 motoring programs. Much more convenient, cost $220 for 4-cyl headers, although if visiting in person CASH works for them. Both suppliers sand blast first and give similar finished appearance to Sundowner's picture above when coated. After hard use (track days & dyno runs) they all turn from the polished look to a dull satin finish. Still better than flaking paint off rusty pipes though. Jet Hot in Castlemaine is another ceramic coater as well.
    hope this helps,
    SFE

I had mine done at pacemaker 2 years ago in a bright silver/grey color.
as SFE said, they went dull after the first dyno run but they still look good after 2 years of trackwork
(touch wood) they seem to be holding together better than the last ones i had that werent treated

Thanks for all the responses guys.

Looing at matt black so not too concerned about fading.

Modern plating aren't too far away and cash is always king.

    WIll make some enquires.

    Thanks all, Shaun
