New Ford Capri
It's not a bad looking rig, although I think they should refine the rear side windows to reflect the "D" windows of the original

We've had false starts about 5 times now, I think Ford should go down the path of the Beetle and Mini, a rejigged Cougar would be the answer

That article is from May 2012. This one is from Nov 212, and says it is unlikely. Who knows what will happen. No mention of whether it was rear-drive either, and it would be a shame if it wasn't.

Today's Herald-Sun here in Melbourne ran this story by leading Automotive Journalist, Paul Gover, who is currently at the LA Car Show in the US. If these stories keep getting aired then, sooner or later, someone's got to latch on to it and agree to bring the 'sexy' European back!

The current Wheels mag states that the car would be FWD (darn!), and a spin off of the Mondeo, although it looks more Focus sized to me, which I think would be plenty big enough.

Looking to the success of the BRZ/GT86 I'd say all the manufacturers are looking at the Front Engine/Rear Drive concept all over again. No reason why Ford couldn't do a 'small' Mustang and sell it world wide under the Capri badge...
