V6 Clutch cable

Has anyone tried using a MK3 V6 clutch cable on a MK1?  They have a large bush at the top I belive to align the inner cable better, Just wondering if they fit MK1

    My catalogue lists them as the same in the aftermarket. Without having them in front of me they do look similar.
    Theres a letter on its way to you re this very subject

    Yes Steve, got that letter last night, I want to buy 3 just wanted to make sure they go straight in or find out if I have to modify the firewall hole/tube
