Factory tacho in Mk1 2 Dial Dash

I have seen somewhere a few examples of the factory tacho out of a 6 dial being put into the standard two dial cluster. Have the tacho just wondering if anybody has any pics or tips etc as the standard temp & fuel needs cutting out.

Cheers

I know Theo from the NSW Small Ford Club has done it in his orange Turbo-Roo. Here's his pics.

Here's his notes when I asked him about it:
"When you remove the fuel & temp gauge you can then cut a circle to the correct diameter. I used a small angle grinder (the cutting wheel happened to be the diameter I needed) and took my time. The tacho housing was held in with 4 small screws in the original dash so I just drilled new holes in the back of my dash and screwed it all together.
You can remove the actual tacho gauge from the housing too by removing the 2 screws next to each connector so you can avoid damaging it when you're modifying it."

I cut one of my spares up around this line

And that's as far as I've got with mine.

You beat me to the punch Peter. Yes, converted as shown above.
The only other tip is to make sure you loop the white wire in the connector on the back of the tacho (not the way it's shown in the photo), it gave an accurate reading when i looped it.

    Finished product shown below
