Not without a hell of a lot of work to the whole suspension system, as they are completely different, and I doubt you'll get it street legal without alot of time and money.

There is nothing wrong with utilising the Std system, and making it work properly, so unless you have a particualr reason for trying something different, don't bother

There is plenty of stuff available for the std front end without over complicating it.  I would look at a coil over conversion, capri struts, vented disc conversion with good pads, decent shocks and sway bar, decent bushes, strut tops etc

All these itesm are readily available and basically fit without alot of hassle and a well and truly capable of supporting either of those engines.

You need to understand that if you make major mods to your suspension it's a very complicated job, and thought needs to go into geometry etc so its not a pig to drive.  Alot of the so called "expert" conversions that are made for a lot of vehicles are complete rubbish, and suspension and steering geometry is completely misunderstood by whoever is manufacturing them.

The std type Escort system has been utilised and modded by many people and it can be made work very well with the right work.
