oil leaking from dipstick

folks just after a remedy, the dipstick holder on my engine is pretty loose and oil escapes does anyone know how i can keep it in place, sometimes when i check the oil the holder comes out as well.

    I would try pulling the holder out of the block and using some sikaflex or similiar to keep it in place and seal it.  Make sure you clean all the oil off the sealing surfaces though or it wont stick

    "Quiksteel" - steel reinforced epoxy putty.
    It's perfect for that sort of thing, similar to JB Weld & the like & it's available at Supercheap, Repco, etc.
    I used it to attach my dipstick tube & engine block oil separator in the RS & it works like a charm.
    They're both secured solid as a rock and are leak free many years after installation.

    Was there ever an O-ring in the hole for the dipstick or not?
     
    mine is loose and was wondering if an o-ring was missing, but if not then i will give this quiksteel stuff a go.

    Sometime a careful hit with a hammer on the dipstick tube can reseat the tube properly as they can work free over time and it's takes more than a push to get them to seal properly.
     
    Sealant is a good option anyway though.

    It it leaking from the dip stick or where the dip stick tube attached the block? If you are blowing oil out your dip stick pipe top make sure your PCV system is cleaned and lines are not collapsing. If you are leaking at the block simply remove the pipe, give it a couple wraps of teflon tape and re-install
