Haven't driven one, but all that power and torque (and no doubt better than 8.1l/100kms) transplanted into a classic Ford sounds like a match made in heaven to me.

That should save some time & money on a transplant I'd reckon.
Hopefully Ford can sell a few so we have a ready supply at the wreckers in years to come!

they will be fitted to mondeos anf focus's too so should be a good supply. Just need to get P platers behind the wheel and there will be heaps in wreckers yards!

Pity they've only sold about 3 ecoboost falcons and they way things are going aren't likely to sell many more. Wonder if they'll put the 4 into the Territory?

I read recently they are not selling that well. I wonder if its people thinking a little 4 cyl pulling the falcon just wont last?

Most people buy a ford or similar to tow a van and cruise long distances,a dinky 2 litre in a big car wont tow or cruise that good in my opinion ... I maybe wrong,but sales will tell and longevity of the spanish donk, city wise it should be ok but thats folks

First thing I think when looking at a Falcon is yes, i'll take the 4 cylinder option. Worked so well in the Commodore years ago. Why Ford hadn't thought about doing it earlier is beyond me.
If anyone is truly considering buying a Falcon, wait six months and buy it at the end of the year. They pretty much give them away, especially ones that have been registered by the dealer. A dying model presents excellent value for money.

Every review I have read has praised the Ecoboost Falcon. Losing 60kg over the front axle apparently transforms the steering, and the thing can lay down really respectable acceleration times (0-100k in 6.7s and 400m in 14.5s from memory). I personally don't think it is the size and performance of the engine that is an issue, especially with 350Nm of torque available at a lazy 2000rpm; more that people are generally buying smaller cars to begin with.
