Mid 90's Fast Fours Iconic Blue RS2000

Hey, I remember someone on here posted a few years back a scan from Fast Fours of that mid 90's Blue RS2000 that used to get around Sydney.

I was chatting to this fella (new boyfriend of a friend of ours) that used to own it back in the day after it was sold. He lived in Adelaide. He'd really love to see the article again.

Does anyone have it?

I've never seen the article you refer to, but think I have an old Street Machine mag from the 80s that has a cooking RS2000 from the day that I think was dark blue and had XC Falcon bonnet vents in it.  Could it be the same car?

In that case I'll scrounge around for it.  I know it isn't on the shelf though, so it might take me a while.

Hey, it was on the shelf after all.  The magazine is from Oct-Nov '85, cost a mere $2.80 (those were the days eh?) and has a Mad Max interceptor on the cover.  The RS2000 is more of a mid-blue colour, with NSW license plate "RISKY".

Flipping through the magazine is a bit of a trip.  For those who weren't around then, it was a time when chrome wheels with gold centers were hot stuff , and several cars in this issue have that look, including a Holden with 24k plated Cragars, and the aforementioned RS2000.  Peter Brock spruiked for HM headers and Scorcher ignitions, Goodyear NCT tires were so great they got a 2 page spread proclaiming you'd effectively get a whole new car by fitting them, Alpine had incredible deals on stereos (incredibly expensive by today's standards anyway), you could view the latest Globe wheels and those pop-up perspex sun rooves that were so popular at the time (the coolest having separate panels for driver and passenger).  A little female nudity was still possible in advertising back then too.  Ahhh, nostalgia.

Anyway, if this is the car, PM me your email address, and I'll get a decent scan of the article to you sometime soon.

So is this the actual article you are looking for, or is there another in Fast Fours from the 90s?  Coincidentally, it's the only Street Machine mag I've ever owned.

If I can get a readable copy into the articles section (file size might be a limiting factor), I'll post it there too.

That was most likely me that posted the article. There used to be quite a few articles in the "Magazine Articles" section of the forum but they all seem to have disapeared... must have been archived.

Anyway, I still have the article, so will upload it again shortly.

Save yourself the trouble - I've got it all scanned and ready to go - just having some issues with file size, as they are a tad big for the 250kB limit.  Should be up in an hour or so, as duty calls at the moment.

    Already posted the thread.

Images are a little small in the thread but if you click on the attachments you will get full size versions.

Flighter, if your scans are better quality than ones posted, then please send to me and I will edit the post. Can you also please remind me which issue of Street Machine this article appeared in?

It's from the Oct-Nov 1985 issue.  My scans are bigger and I cleaned them up a bit, although the images are still not perfect, so I'll leave it to you to decide whether to repost them.  PM with attachments headed your way soon.
