oil press pvc pipe and reconnect dash elbow

As the rebuild continues replacing grommetts . I decided to cut off the the elbow from the pipe so I could thread it thru the new grommet .. not my smartest decision.... So far I've used heat from butane solder iron ; boiling water and heat gun all failing . Is there a secret or do I have to get a new unit. Cheers
