1969 GT 1600 Capri for sale - SOLD

Car is now sold, to someone who will definitely look after it and hopefully give it a bit more use than I could. Thanks to all who inquired or had kind words to say.

My 1969 1600GT Capri needs to find a new home with someone who’ll love her as much as I have. Forget spending thousands on a car that needs a total restoration (these always cost more than the finished article is worth) this car needs not a dollar spent! I’ve known this car for over 20 years and owned it for 10. The previous owner ran a Mercedes-Benz panel shop and the car was fully restored there, bare metaled and painted inside, outside and underneath in Glasurit 2 pac. The mechanics were all fully reconditioned to standard GT spec and you could drive this car anywhere.

The interior’s been redone with Escort RS2000 Scheel seats re trimmed in grey Mercedes-Benz MB Tex. The interior is immaculate including leather GT steering wheel, centre console and (reproduction) under dash parcel shelf. Just drive, admire and enjoy everything about this stylish little car.
For sale at $11,500 ono (you couldn’t even get a car painted to this standard for that sort of money). The car is currently on club (historic) rego (42587-H) but I did put on full rego a few years back. Call Cam on 0414 724 724 if you’d like any more info.
I’ll be at the Shannon’s Small Ford Round Up in Nambucca Heads on the long weekend, and anyone is welcome to have a look if you’re around.

Thanks guys. I will be very sad to see it go and hope it doesn't get turned into a drag car or something. But to each his own I guess, and once it's sold what will be will be.

Cam that is so tempting. I'm sure that having 12 cars might just push my spousal relationship over the edge. I notice you've still got the little bronze Mk1 in the back of the shed.

11.....12, what spouse will seriously notice the difference. Just keep it out of sight for a while.

The Mk1 Esky came from up your way so it would be fitting for the Capri to do the return journey.

I forgot myself for a moment. Hit 12 at the week-end. I bought a 1963 XL Falcon Panel van which I'm going to restore and donate to the local Classic Ford Club. If I bought it it would be a change from the usual schmidt boxes I seem to get.

I cant believe your selling Cam. to those who are looking at it, the picture's dont the car justice. this car is stunning!! it is always kept in perfect condition, and if i wasn't buying another capri this would be in my shed now. i have seen a lot worse for more money.

Thanks O. I can't believe it either, but if I don't get back into motorsport I'll loose my license for sure.

You know what happened last time I went racing in a Capri, I couldn't stand that happening again. It's OK to bash up Escorts though.

I drove this car at the 40th Anniversary of the Capri in Wagga Wagga NSW a while back and it is truly a beautiful little car. It drives, handles and stops like a new car. The entire vehicle is finished to the highest standards. Well worth the asking price - Bruce

Cheers Bruce, I forgot you had a drive. That's good though, it means you owe me a drive of yours.

    Some more photos -

Fully undersealed and body colour underneath (a little dusty as my driveway is gravel).

Sorry Mud, Just saw this post, and I can't PM on here yet.
Do you remember what diameter and width the Rostyle rims were and size of tyre this car was running in these pics ?
I'm currently running 13 x 5.5 on my old girl and looking to widen them.
    Cheers, Steve
