1975 Mk1 2dr Shell - SA - Track car,Project-SOLD
Hi All,
I've recently been lucky enough to stumble across a 1975 Mk1 2dr which I was going to build as a track car, so I bought it, trailered it home took to it with a screw driver and grinder to see the real extent of the rust and less than 3 weeks later was told about a 1300GT up for grabs. So now I have both and the GT will be the focus of my attention, given its in better nick.
I'm considering keeping the other just as a spare shell but it doesn't really fit space wise as one of my better Escorts is out in the weather.
At the moment I'd consider moving it on to a good home, ie it will be built into something usable and not scrapped. This was one of the main reasons I bought it, the previous owner was going to send it to scrap metal if I didn’t buy it and I wanted to build a track day only car.
It does have rust in the floors which has been plated over badly, has rust in rear arches, top of front guards and lower A-Pillars, and bootlid otherwise its quite straight. I saw potential as a good track weapon as over here in SA its been
defected.
Its definitely salvageable.
It will be sold as a bare (not as pictured) shell needing a new bootlid and a set of doors. Bring your own wheels.
I don’t want much for it (only want to cover my own expenses of buying it, getting it home and fitting my suspension to it to get it rolling) but I do want it to go to someone whom is looking for a project and not to cut it up or try to sell it on for a profit. If that is you, send me an email or give me a call.
I will arrange photos for serious enquiries in the next week or two (its currently buried in the shed)
Car is located in 25min South of city.
Thanks,
Rhys
