facelift differences

Hi All,

can someone clarify what the differences are between the facelift and the normal aussie mk1 in respect to

1 - the front guards - how can I tell if the guards on a facelift are correct.

2 - with regards to the bonnet I believe the ridge where the head lights go under are slightly wider/longer ? is this the case ? - can anyone tell me how much longer they are. Also I was told yesterday that all facelift bonnets had the fake cast vent at the back - can anyone clarify this.

thanks Paul

Facelift bonnets have 2 extra inches per side at the eyebrow to allow for the bigger headlight buckets. They have either extra large rectangular headlights (GT) or twin round (GXL). All facelifts have the wider headlight bonnet. There are early bonnets with the cast vent, these are from pre-facelift "federal" USA delivered cars, as ALL USA capris had the wider bonnets as their design regs call for twin headlights.

I do not believe that there are differences between facelift and pre f/l front guards, however, European made capris used Metric gauge steel which is thinner than Imperial gauge used by UK made cars
