2 Litre camshaft roller followers

Hi All,

I am considering purchasing a set of new camshaft roller followers to suit the 2 litre Escort engine. I already have a really nice near new billet cam, so the roller followers will need to have the same ratio as the standard type follower.

Does anyone know where I can purchase these? Just checked Burton Power website however don't appear to have any.

    Hi Peter,

Not that simple. Roller rockers require a completely different profile camshaft. You can't miss match the a cam profile to suit standard style rockers with roller rockers and v/versa, they need to be matched.

There is no such thing as a roller rocker with the same pad radius as the standard rocker.

If you're going down that path you will need to have a new billet done to suit roller rockers and sell off the cam you have, or use a set of standard style rockers.

    Thanks Wozzah,

I haven't touched my performance Escort engine since 1990.

So I guessed I had hoped that someone smarter than me had solved the problem.

No worries I will chuck the cam in with the crappy followers and reconsider purchasing the goodly parts once the US$ gets to about AUD$10, which won't be too far away.
