Iv been wanting to do this for ages. I got a boot release cable from an XY which I just gotta get around to putting in.
Just search eBay for 'boot release' and see what comes up.

The electric opener will bigger the boot lid hinges.
The xc boot release is great for lowering the rear number plate.

I scored one from a Cortina (same as XY-XC Falcon's).

I haven't fitted it yet and really don't know how it will fit. I see its got to slide into the boot lid on and I need something to pull the latch when the cable is pulled (piece of wire and a zip tie is looking the goods at this point).

Electric one will probably be a cheaper option as everyone is chasing these for their Falcon restorations.

A mate fitted a complete electric lock from a Focus boot into a mk2 Escort, i think he made a lock tab to suit but not hard, just fiddly.
