hey where is this on a 2 lire pinto?

    That's the engine number.
    C - UK model
    K - Assembled in Sydney
    3P = Escort 2-Door GL Sedan 2000cc
    US - Built March 1978
    63227 - serial number.
    R - 4 cylinder

    Thanks! Any real differences between the Australia and uk model engine? And Am I right in thinking all Australian model 2 liters were the same specs?

    If you're refering to the C code on the block, that has nothing to do with the engine. The engine numbers are a mirror of the car they were first in. That 2 Litre you've got started out in a 78 Coupe.

    I think there's some discussion about different engine castings somewhere on here. Have a search in the engine - pinto part.
