door rubbers

After many months I've finally found where the leak is in my Mk1 2-door. Apparently the door rubbers have shrunk and that is where the water is coming in. The rubbers are actually in good condition otherwise, but can anyone tell where to get new rubbers and how well they fit?
Cheers, Big Al

East Kent Trim - UK http://www.classiccar-trim.com/

I believe Rare Spares do them although have no idea of quality or fit.

www.smckaperformance.com.au - again no idea of quality or fit

    www.burtonpower.co.uk

Sorry do not know of any other locals.

My rubbers all come from East Kent Trim. I don't buy any others.
I have my car fitted with all their rubber if you want to have a look.

Are they the same profile as the original Stephen? Good fit? Do you do a FULL Mk1 Escort kit i.e. all doors and window bits?

I bought a full kit (less the front Q/window seals) from East Kent Trim, all seals look and fit great, tho the doors need a bit of a slam to shut proper! Cost was around $600 inc post 3yrs ago

I purchased a kit from these guys for my Mk2 4door. The rubbers are a nice fit. They are not a joined continuous piece to fit the door like factory, Its just a length that you cut to fit.

I will have a full kit in stock next month with my shipment.

The EKT rubbers are very good and very close to original. The 1/4 rubbers are near perfect and the outer belt strips are better than *anything* you will buy in reproduction.

My drivers door needs a good thump but passenger does not. I suspect my car has been whacked at some stage but.

Cost for a full kit? Does it include all the little rubber bits that surround the door glass? Everything on my car needs replacing!!

$800 for everything. If you need the clips to hold the glass seals in the doors then they will be extra 20 bucks. I'll send it to you for that as well.

Thanks Stephen. I am a few weeks away from pulling the doors down at which time I can confirm that I do need a full kit. Sounds like a good price.

If you put bubble bath in the out side of the rubber or where you think the link is -- then get inside the car with a vacuum cleaner on blow or compressered air and blow at it -- where the link is it will blow bubbles----

I have the inner and outer felts (outer blades, yes?) and bailey channel in stock now. I've taken a punt and ordered the door seals which are leaving UK today.
Snow stopped everything there for 3 days [xx(]
