Mk2 RS2000 fuses

Hi All,

Re Standard RS2000 fuses.

Can someone check the fuse box on their firewall of their standard Mk2 RS2000? I am looking for the fuse No4. What rating is it?

I am blowing fuses instantly every time I switch on the high beams.
The Ford workshop manual rates this fuse at 8 amps, however this is for the standard two headlight Escort. There is no mention for the RS2000 and the four headlights which obviously draw more amps.

Thanks, Peter.

    Hi Fellas,

    Thanks for your input.

On the way to work this morning sitting at a red light in ga ga land and thinking about something entirely different I realised the fault.

The globes in the driving lights were fitted by a previous owner and are 100 Watt. Standard Ford they should be 55 Watt. I replaced the globes and now work perfectly.

The fuse is correct at 8 amp.

    Thanks again!

    PeterM.
