Estimated value? EL wagon

im selling my el wagon, just wondering what its worth???

i threw it on ebay for $1500... but its not looking too promising.

on gas, tank still in date, NO REG, NO RW,
dark window tint, CD player, new brakes, new radiator, AU transmission

broken tailgate mount (where the strut connects too) so no d/s strut

3 good tyres, one front tyre worn to (what i assume) roadworthy limit outer edge.

d/s guard dented

OK spare

"Half-Assed" painted bonnet, perfectionists would end up waiting a proffessional spray down the track.

Over-all pretty clean car, no serious dents except the one mentioned

clean paint, good interior, just a few marks here and there on the carpets/seats

cheers!

thats it summed up, heres the ad.

They ain't worth much. And with those problems, 1500 would be pushing it

to which the owner replied, "$500 or less mate"

Would probably spark more interest with a Safety Cert & Rego - but what is that going to cost you $ that you may not get back.

Put in on Ebay for 0.99 and see what happens?

yeah thats not going to happen, the reason im selling it is because rego time is in 2 weeks, and the cars still not roadworthy, cant renew rego that hasnt been trasferred yet without a roady. (not in my name anyway)

plus the coolant leak, which may or may not be headgasket. im just over it. ive seen the coolant guage go to HOT too many times for too many different reasons.

so yeah im loosing a fair bit already, the money the car owes me would double if i got rego...

Yeah, the cooling system on E-series Falcons are time bombs waiting to go off. Usually it's because the plastic radiator side tanks fill with the casting sand from the block that wasn't flushed properly, the pressure goes up, gets a hairline crack in the side tank and drains itself, cooks the motor, warps the head, and blows the head gasket.

It's a shame but probably best to scrap it.

yeah well see, the leak turned out to be the flexible hose going from heater pipe (on engine) to the heater tap, easy
