TX3 Power Window

Hey all,

Not quite a classic Ford (YET!!) but I have picked up a KH TX3 for a daily run about to replace the old ute which recently sold.

I know a few people on here tinker on these beasts (I'm looking at you Simon :P ) and I need some help chasing up some power window switches.

I have been doing some research on the switches and it looks like they are the same model as used in the later model Capri's FC RX7's??

Can anyone confirm this? Even better can anyone recommend a source for some parts for a KH TX3 (non turbo FWD)??

    If you can confirm whether they're the same, I have a 91 Mazda Astina SP for spares that has power windows that may be of help.

    Hi Reece,

    Sorry mate, I'm not going to be of much help to you! I don't think power windows are all that common - whenever I see a TX3 advertised for wrecking, the first question always seems to be, "Does it have power windows?!"

    Have a chat to Wozzah to see if you can use the Astina parts, otherwise jump on www.fordlaser.com and have a look around. Unfortunately there are a lot of keyboard warriors on there, but a few members seem to know what they're talking about. What sort of parts are you chasing?

    Cheers for the responses guys,

    Have had a geeze on fordlaser.com and have tried to sift thru the crap and there has been a little bit of info but not too much..

    Simon, it appears that you are correct in saying that the electric windows are a rare option as I have called a stack of wreckers and had no luck at all!

    Wozza, would you be able to post a pic of the switches in the Astina? By the souds of it there's a fair chance they will match up (which would be AWESOME!!).

    As for other parts, I only need a few more things:

    * standard set of springs to get over rego
    * headlight combo switch

    That should be about it for now..

    Once its passed rego I think I'll have a little play with it, it is fantastic fun to drive around and a few little tweaks here and there (camber bolts, sway bars, intake, exhaust, better brake pads/fluid). By that stage it should be right for a few track days at Wakefield!
