Jammed motor - 1600 Kent

Guys, I am after some of your thoughts.
I have been talked into another resto project - a Capri that has been sitting for ? years. Not sure when the motor last ran but the fuel pump was just full of white powder & the oil filter was last changed in 1986. Anyway I can get the motor to turn over by hand but only about a third of a turn & then it just jams. It is a manual so not in gear, have taken out starter motor, pistons are moving, valves look Ok but haven't taken head off at this stage. It feels as if something is jamming, maybe timing chain.
Any ideas appreciated but only good news ones thanks!!!!

Thanks, Sterling - you were spot on!
After I took the rocker arm off, I noticed two valve springs still compressed so off with the head!
Two of the inlet valves are siezed or bent & were stuck open preventing the engine from turning over. Lots of corrosion but not as bad as I originally thought.
