Triple carbs
A mate of a mate runs a V6 in local club sprints.
He is on the lookout for a set of triples, (I think he has already sourced a manifold).
I know my Escort carbs and sidesdrafts but not so up to speed on the downdrafts used in these set ups. Does 42 DGS sound right?
Any pointers would be appreciated.
Cheers

triple 42 DCNF carbs were used, I have mate selling a new Rick Wood triple manifold for $1200, could possibly find you some carbs too. Bear in mind the manifolds are made for D port heads so may need port matching to fit Oval port heads

Yes think your right, think carbs are from a Maserati and the bell mouths are from an Aston Martin, it may be the other way round. Don't forget the"heat sink" plates that the carbs sit on!!

You could get 3 new 40DCNF's for about $1700 Aus landed if they were suitable, or you could buy 3 Jenvey 40, 42 or 45 twin barrel throttle bodies for about $1500 landed and go with an electronic injection setup. Both should suit a standard manifold, as long as you don't have one of those 70's methanol mechanical injection manifolds that doesn't evenly space each of the carbs/TB's.

That manifold is an Oval port and will take DCN carbs (not dcnf). If your friend gets desperate I know of a complete genuine ford set up for $2500

Guys
Thanks for all the info, exactly what he was after. He has to stay on carbies as its a Group N car (I think?).
I take it someone out here is converting the standard 2 barrel manifolds to 4 barrel intakes?
Cheers

I think so, but there are always one or two floating around for sale from time to time. I have a couple of different 4 barrel converted manifolds, one of which I might sell if someone needed/wanted one.

why dont you just fabricate a plate alloy manifold and use triple 48 idf's or be different and use 2 porche triple webers on a home made manifold. The 4 barrel will not work as the hole is too big
