door pins ( i know its been done ) But....

So on a search of the forum i found a few threads related to mk1 door hinge pin removal ( not in capri section ), so i have some idea of what to do

However , on looking for the required door pin removal tool online ,i have found an abundance of various options and really don't know which one suits our capri's ?

What have you used ?

Can you please post a pic?

Mine Are proud at the bottom of top hinge and top of bottom hinge with a split which can be compressed with vise grips , however no luck with a quick go ( wd 40 and slanted punch )

The pins also rotate as the door swings if that means anything to the guys that have been there done that

looking to get these babys off for a easy jamb spray

thanks

jonny

If you remove the inside kick panels access to the back of the hinge can be gained. Using a socket remove the three nuts per hinge and the door comes off hinges and all.

If you can avoid taking out the pins, do so!
I found it one of the hardest jobs on my resto project but I had to do one door to fix up the alignment. Taking off the doors definitely is the best way to go but take care with the nuts as they seemed to be get stripped easily & I replaced the six of them.
You need heaps of WD40, a steel punch or I ended up with a similar diameter steel bolt with a large head so I could really belt it with the hammer,a jigsaw & a gas torch.
After a lot of blood, sweat & tears & a smoking door hinge, I finally got one to move & because of a restricted space ( I think with the top one), I had to cut half of it off with the jigsaw.
I got the replacement pins from the Capri Clinic in WA.
    Have fun![(#)]
