    1) what's the engine and state of tune?
    2) Louder, no difference in power. Won't necessarily sound better if engine standard.
    3) Usually 3-4 wires. Green to the coil for signal. White for the backlight which goes to 12v. Red to 12V too. Black = earth.
    4) What do the LEDs measure?
    5) Speedo, fuel level, temperature, then oil pressure. In that order.
    6) Get new globes and make sure the little 1/2 turn housing carrier plugs are properly in place in the back of the dash pod.

its a 1600 and has a 32/36 2 stage cam, tune is sweet as at the moment, but will change to suit exhuast and all that jazz.

With the LED's i think they are 12v so yeah. haha

Now with oil pressure, how do i install a guage to measure that?
also what is the norm with oil pressure in a 1600 escort?

    cheers

An oil pressure gauge can be either mechanical or electric. A mechanical one will run a capilary line from the block to the gauge. The line will carry oil at pressure for the gauge to measure. Gotta make sure that all your fittings are done up correct as you will have hot oil entering the car to where you mount the gauge and if it let's go, you could be wearing it. The gauge should come with the capilary line and you may just need to buy a fitting to connect the line to the block.

An electric one will have a sender unit that mounted to the block and a wire will run from that to the gauge. You will also need to tap some power into the gauge from somewhere. Again, you might need a fitting to connect the sender unit to the block.

Don't pov out and buy an el cheapo gauge, you get what you pay for.

One of the 1600 guys will tell you where on the block it will mount and the ideal pressure.
