Seeing as though a few guys have been painting lately I was curous as to which brands of paint people are using. I need to make a decision on this soon.

x2 however when we painted my escort is was just going to be a cheap job to make it look alright and we used 'MIPA' 2Pack its cheap but the finish on my car is great. It did however take my painter around 12-14hours on the buff and sander afterwards.

Thanks everyone. I was thinking PPG or Spies but hadnt heard of Protec so will check them out. I notice also that Dulux are back in the auto game so will check them out too.

I believe PPG bought out Protec about 18 months or so ago, but that is not to say that Protec paint is of the same quality as PPG but we have painted 6 cars using Protec & have no major issues but as a consumer the Protec product is far more competitive.

I think PPG bought out the old Dulux range (not 100% sure) but Dulux site says they are back after an exclusion period.
Seems water based base coats is starting to gain some momentum too. Decisions decisions [x2x]
