Can I use the 1600 gearbox mount (support,x-member)or do I need a 2l one also my radiator is newly rebuilt would it handle the pinto

just trying to think back to when i did the same thing in my first capri, you can use the same cross member, i bought a new rubber mount anyway, not sure if you can use the 1600 mount, When I did mine the 2lt shaft wouldn't couple up to the 1600 diff , so i reckon you will need a 2lt diff.

Would a 2l diff centre fit inside the original diff housing?

yes the 2l diff fits into the original housing, you will need to change the axles also
