Modena RS question

Modena RS,

a while ago on another thread you said you are able to convert the old original am radio to have MP3 capability. Do you still do this ? if so how much does it cost ? - also can you give me a brief description of what is involved ?

thanks Paul

    Hi Paul,

The original Ford radio (or most basic AM radios) would be fitted with a 3.5mm input socket on the end of a cable that is then hidden away somewhere on the lower dash area. Alternatively a socket could be fitted to a rocker switch blank (hope you have one - I can't afford one!) next to the radio on a MK1 Capri dash.

A switch is also then fitted to the lower dash or on the same switch blank to allow selection between the AUX (MP3) input or the AM radio.

The modification would cost $60 excluding freight. I would need the radio for a week or across a weekend by arrangement.

    Thanks, Mark. 0412321196

    Hi Mark,

was wondering if I would need an amp aswell to do this modification ? Do you know if my IPOD would work if i bought the jacks and linked it directly to my speaker ? The speaker will only be a 6 inch in the original location under the dash...

    thanks Paul
