my other toy.... not a Ford... but a Holden!!

hello,

aswell as the Escort project we have, this is my other toy that used to consume all my money!! i've owned for around 7 years now. she is a 1985 HDT VK SS Commodore. she is a real "Brock" but over the years it has had:
rebuilt engine( including roller rockers, crane cam, crane double valve springs, crane antipump lifters, crane chromemoly retainers/collet's, jp timing chain, jp oil pump, new rochester carby. original block in shed, using a VL block at present )
rebuilt gearbox ( std M21 )
rebuilt diff ( std LSD 3.08 )
retrimmed interior ( using original NOS HDT material inc head lining and door trims )
resprayed
new headlights/tail lights
and new Genie exhaust system incl extractors.

    cheers.... yeah won't be to everyones taste on here that's for sure but i love it!!! won't part with the Brocky for a very long time if at all..... same goes with the Escort though... always regretted selling my old one..:)

    Very nice...

    An old workmate had a VK SS Group 3 AUTO Director, one of only a handfull made. It was an ex Holden execs car and had all the 'special' engine mods done at the factory.

    As a young 19yr old, it was the fastest 'factory' cars I had been in.

    Ever since I've had a soft spot for them.

    I bet the price has gone up a little since then.[:I]

    nice! yeah the prices have gone up a bit, have come back in the last couple of years though but still not where they were when i bought mine... mines currently insured for 3 times what i paid for it but in saying that, i have spent a fair bit on it.

    do you go to drags/motorvation/powercruise at all? im sure ive seen your car round before. work in the area that last picture was taken? used to be round there quite often when i was younger, maybe saw it there.

    my neighbour has the last remaining VC HDT Black Auto....was him and Tony Lockett until he sold it and the new owner wrote it off!! So now his is the last one in Black and it is very original!

    not really, have been to Kwinana to watch a couple of times but thats about it, never taken the car to powercruise or MV. also dont work in the area the last picture was taken but our old car club used to meet at Gelari near by??

    Nice, i had a VK Brock Calais Director just like that a few years back. unfortunately the guy i sold it to wrote it off 2 weeks after i sold it to him - shame cause there isn't many left
