MK2 Ghia

Up for sale is our 1600 ghia auto MK2.

I bought this one from the original owners and it comes with the original books plus receipts for the exchange GEM engine that has 41000 klms on it now.

The good bits – very original straight old girl, 1600 ghia engine, basically MK2 Cortina GT with the aluminium manifold and weber , extractors etc. some nice touches like the spare that has never been on the road, the plastic still down the sides of the rear seats etc. Body wise its pretty good, C pillars are perfect as is top corners of the boot, the boot floor and space recess etc. Car was genuinely a country NSW car for many years, sold new in Yass. Firewall is pretty sound with some minor rust at the base of the heater bubble. The paint is pretty good and other than touching up around the little rust it has it does not need painting.

The “iffy bits” – it has rust around the bottom of both rear guards plus the passenger side sill, both would be easy to bog up but we have not bothered with that as yet. It has had a tap on the rear panel that is noticeable but again we have not bothered to fix that for a motorkhana / khanacross car. I think a panel beater would actually be able to pull it out without touching the paint.

It drives and steers quite well but does need shocks all around. I have a pair of Monroe gas shocks for the rear that come with the car bit are not fitted.

The car is presently on steel ghia rims but if the buyer prefers I can sell it with ghia alloys as I have a set of those as well.

Looking for around $1300.00. Car is on the Gold Coast for any who wants a look.

Please don't ask for pics, if you are not close enough to come look at it you aren't going to be buying it.

Cheers

David W can have a look at it when he picks up some tyres tomorrow...

I originally put up "dont ask for photos" but that was just to stop the time wasters asking for photos of every little detail when they were not serious. I will post a couple of pics next day or so , so people can see its not a bad old thing. Just have to do that through I.E.which I dont have installed at the moment, stay tuned.

    Cheers
