Backing strip for Door Trim

I'm chasing a strip that runs underneath the top edge of the door card on a Mk2 Escort. It effectively adds strength to the top where the door card slots into the inner door rubber. It seems to be stapled (but could be riveted) to the underside of the door card. It would be about 1- 1.5cm wide and has rubber felt on 1 side

Does anyone have these that are surplus?

Does anyone know of a suitable alternative that would solve the problem?

    Hello David,

There is a rubber and felt seal that runs the length of the door trim between the front and rear sliding window chutes. This is stapled directly to the door card. It fits between the outer side of the door card radius and the inside of the sliding window.

These are readily available at most auto repro rubber shops and are almost identical to the originals.

There are no other additional strengtheners etc.

    ta, peter.
