To keep or not to keep

Ive got a very rough Mk2 4 door and was really looking for a Mk1. Is there any valid reason that i should keep the Mk2 for odds and ends for the Mk1 once i get it. They changed from Imperial to Metric between these 2 models didn't they? All advice will be taken into consideration...[x2x]

There are a few things worth keeping, however it depends on what you have planned for the MK1 and what is in the current MK2??

Basically all mechanicals are worth keeping as spares and some rust repair sections are handy, ie floor pans and trans tunnels.
