Mk2 RS2000 Project

I bought this shell from a guy who rescued this RS from a wreckers and did all the hard work on the body as well. Interesting thing about this shell is that it has a complete factory sun roof. The previous owner gave me a lot of photos taken of the restoration work. I've posted a couple for those that are interested.

On the subject of good Escorts going to waste at wreckers, I remember spotting an original 2dr MK2 RS2000 at Centre Road Wreckers in Clayton about 11 years ago. Only issue being under bonnet fire. Body and interior tops, ID plates numbers ect matched. Had no cash or place for it myself so finally convinced a mate to buy and we headed down to look/put a deposit on it 3 days later. Got there to find it about 12 inches thick on the other side of the fence... CRUSHED!! [8~2]

The body is in surprisingly good condition considering it ended up at a wreckers sitting on top of a Gemini. A little bit of rust on the passenger side C pillar and a few very minor dents here and there were the only issues.

My plan is to make it as original as possible. I'm going to paint it white (Snow White) with the RS decals and stripes (same as my 4 door). I have a set of Euro RS alloys for it which are on my 4 door at the moment. For the interior I'll go completely original right down to the AM radio

The engine won't be standard. I'll be going with a big port head and twin down draught Webers.

    A few more pics.

Don't have too many photos of the 4 door Scott. Its been my daily runabout for the last 16 years (showing my age here [:0]) so it needs some work done. I've finally stopped using it as a daily car though and stored it away for the winter which is disappointing as I really enjoy driving it. It’s definitely pre-restoration although the photo attached is quite flattering.
