Granny's mk2 cortina turbo.

a few of they guys in SA have herd me speak of a mates mk2 cortina turbo...
well heres a few pics of it... im trying to get his arse into gear for next weekends dyno day but as u can see by the cobwebs and spiders hes lost a bit of interest as of late.. even when it would probably take one solid day to finish it.
he says he will put some effort in this weekend so let's hope he gets somewhere... anyway heres some pics i took 2nite sorry bout the quality but it was dark and fairly tight where the car is parked...Photo Sharing and Video Hosting at Photobucket

here are some of the specs he has listed for me...

2litre pinto
7:1 compresion can run 20 psi
forged volkswagen mahle pistons
lighted polished and shot peened rods
O ringed block
dowled big end caps and flywheel
big cam to suit turbo ( wouldn't give that away)
sierra fuel injection manifold
custom turbo manifold
T3 turbo
gas research carby
supra 5 speed
borg warner 3.7 lsd
garret front mount intercooler
17" roh wheels
rx7 s4 front calipers
eb falcon rear calipers
laser steering rack
full adjustable suspension.

this car has made 160kw at the wheels with the gas carbi playing up on its 1st trip to the dyno.. he expects to make more once it is properly developed.
the car has only covered about 150ks scince its build....

hopefully if he gets it running for next week he will be able to tell u more...

well where stretching a really badly alchohol affected memory here but it was in the general woodcroftish area? kinda on the way to Rhys' maybe?

about a year or so ago, saw bright green paint and those exact rims showing along the bottem of the cover?...

    cheers

Rhys I know what your talking about. That car lived just off Odessa Drv in Woodcroft for a while, didn't see it alot though. But I was told it was a turbo'd 1600 as my mates girlfriend lived across the road, he also had a Mk1 Escort Im pretty sure.

Not sure how this lines up with Sundowners mates car? if it sposed to be the same or a very similar one.

Either way I look forward to seeing this one in pics above in real life.
