Damn thats one nice Mk2. I think im going to steal your idea and fill the C-piller vents, What are the side effects of doing this? Ow and i will also cover my fuel filler things as it does nothing. Hope you dont mind. Just makes your car look so damn tough!

Cheers JordyCharlieBoz, I have no idea of the side affects of having the vents blocked off, although I would guess it should fog up more easily.. although it has never seemed to be the case.

I guess it is time for a bit of an update aswell. The car has been off the road since June. I have nearly got everything for the new engine now (finally) after the cracked block fiasco, it is nothing fancy, pretty much a standard engine. Had a few dramas with the new block but hopefully its all sorted now. Unfortunately 4 months is a long time and in that period I have started pulling up everything else on the car so I have got my work cut out for me when it comes to putting it back together again.  My new pedal box arrived last week as well  Unfortunately I felt a strong desire to purchase this a couple of weeks back, so I guess the tidying up of it will be the major hold up on the blue one for the next couple of months. And then it will be back to saving for a new ECU for the blue one !  Cheers, Damion

Yep, I think this one will remain crossflow powered too Hi Josh, I will be needing to do some brisbane / coast trips in it when it's alive again, so I might bump into you one day. Hi Phil, I think that sometimes it's just as fun building them as it is driving them.. Although nothing beats the first drive ! And you get in less trouble when they are tucked away [:p]

Hi, just curious to see what you had started from. I like the job you have done. I used to have two door with the same mag wheels. This white one. Got a 4dr at the moment. This green one. Has a pretty hot motor running 48 Idf webers and all the good bits inside, forged rods/ pistons etc.. Trying to find a 2dr shell though. Not many here in VIC.

Cool as, they both look very cool. Do you know who originally made those wheels ? Here are some early photos, I first bought the car in 2001 like this  The first incarnation was in 2003 when I first got my licence:   This was the first "hot" engine in early 2005

Cool, wish I had more time to do more with mine. Really want a 2dr again. I spent loads on that white one only to have it stolen. Just spent over 10 grand on this new engine. Trying to save to get a 2dr automatic shell ( I hope! ). The old Carma Mags were made by Dragway I'm pretty sure. Like to get hold of another set. I think they do a good job of toughening the look of a mark2. Hope you get yours back on the road soon. I am going through the hassle of running this motor in, can't dyno it yet and get it jetted properly till I do a few more hundred kays. Really annoying not being able to give her a rev yet.
A fantastic looking little machine they are when they are put together like yours. Well Done!

Hi Jules, having a car stolen must be a truley gut wrenching experience  Running in a new engine is always a tough task.. I try to plan a decent drive up some nice hilly roads and a trip to brisbane or the coast (bit far for you I know) and it quickly winds on the kms. Jds, cheers. The pedalbox is from Gartrac (www.gartrac.com). I have been reading around for a while and they have a reputation for building one of the best escort pedal boxes around. They are expensive though. I have heard that those rally design pedal boxes acutally flex from side to side when you stand on the brake pedal hard.
