Hey Deano I could say a couple of jokes about Vic, but I think I'll stay here in the carpark state and be quiet lol. Hope things get back to some sort of regulatory there soon.

Robbie tramp bars were standard on Capri mk1 and most Escorts above 1300gt in the UK (Australia missed out on the good stuff as usual) so they can't be bad. Having fitted plenty of sets and feeling the difference while powering thru a corner is like night n day.
My old mk2 has them but when I bent the diff housing I needed to fit another quick but let the tramp bars off till I made the axle bkts , even with an LSD there is noticable change , the rear felt kind of lacking .

Very little action happened with the shell this week, prolly because I've bought a couple of new shed toys and another on the way to keep me distractingly occupied .

1st item is a heater which runs on diesel... and yes my shed is open plan so getting gassed out will be very hard.

Second item is something I wanted for years and I've also started making one but got halted due to the design style I wanted, anyway here's the bought one, throat size is 480mm.

Came with a bunch of shaping dies as well

I'm planning on a removable mounting on the side of the bash table I made a while back. Have plans on making it electric but then it'll need it's own pedestal ... Or I'll continue to build the one I started and power that one as it's throat size will be about 750-800mm, will see how it goes...

Very not much going on at all with the car, I keep buying tools and components which distracts my time on the car.... However, I've not been dormant in the shed . I did make a tidy mount for the swage roller plus do some mods to it as they are very agricultural , no return spring or winder to lift the top roller after the shape is done. The machine is easily removable by 2x bolts

I used a Escort mk2 window crank handle instead of the stupid bolt arrangement.
Here is it's home for now..

Slightly off topic, last week we had some fierce cold weather here in Adelaide. This pic was taken at lunchtime last Monday at work, not long after it hailed beans for a little while , sky went so dark !

Back on topic but still off topic, I've been bouncing my time between the car and the ute , I been reading stuff about the Courier 2.6 motor, bit of a slug as power is concerned . Apparently it's ready to turbo as the computer can deal with the extra flow, mine doesn't have a exhaust gas sensor which is even better. I bought a manifold plate from Darren Salmon of Salmon Built Designs . He claims the motors can live on 7-9psi without much drama, I'm going to try for more boost.. The worst that happens is a head gasket failure . 1st off I bought some steam pipe angles and straights for the manifold and bought a few T3 turbo flanges Incase I mess up !
I cut these short lengths in the bandsaw at 12° once I've made the jig to hold them while being cut..

Once they were tack welded up and welded to the T3 flange .
This is the turbo balancing on a length of 4by2 plank to see where it'll be happily set.

Once I was happy with it's placement I welded a strap to secure the positions and got starting to make the tubes, just gotta say I'm not a brilliant Tig welder, prolly mediocre at best but as long as there's no air leaks I consider job jobbed..

I'm still buying bits n pieces for this conversion like exhaust, mufflers, V bands, and intercooler.

Deano Deano Deano lol, the ute is still a project of sorts.. once I've got the ute running again I'll be back on the 2dr , hoping to be another week or two , the ute is the only other working car I've got right now and it's very handy.
Btw I'll possibly be buying another vehicle this weekend or next weekend, something else to distract me haha.

Both wrong hehe , I'm going to keep yous hanging 😆.

I did get a majority of the manifold welded up today, best bit is the gas ran out which I've been waiting for years to happen so I can return the rental bottle back to boc and buy a bottle from Total Tools , yeah I could've bought one from Bunnings but I've already got the argoshield from TT 5yrs ago. If your always welding it's the best way to go .
