Car freight Perth to Melbourne

Hi, does anyone have a suggestion for car freight from Perth to Melbourne? Any good or bad experiences or any tips or pitfalls I should watch out for. The car starts, drives & is registered but is old.

All help appreciated. I would love a road trip but 7000k's return is a bit much.

Cheers, Craig.

I don't have any recommendations, but I'm curious to know what classic car is leaving sunny Perth for distant lands.

Try CEVA, if they operate in WA. They specialise in backloading cars, cost $273 from Townsville to Brisbane-1500km, just as an example. My brother even entrusted his beloved Cobra with them ,(carefully tucked away up the front , under cover! )  Len

Thanks for the help guys. The current owner of the car seems keen to send by another company I have never heard of. http://automover.com.au Maybe it's easier or closer for him, but their website says they specialise in Perth to Brisbane - no Melbourne depot as such. Does that mean it will be subbied out? I am finding prices are all very reasonable & similar.

    Cheers, Craig.

............have you asked the Railways for a quote ?   Ideally , whatever mode you use, a closed-in Container would preclude any chance of hail or foreign objects damaging car, but may be expensive. If "open" transport, I don't know of any car-cover you could fit that won't "rub/damage" paint . Leaves the only option of "no cover".

Hi Craig, Call me at Prixcar and I will make sure the price is right. We ship from Perth in Rail Boxes so the car will be enclosed. My Prixcar number is 0437 855 067. Cheers, David Vervaart.

This thread is very old. If you asked me this in 2024, I would recommend you to go for P&S Logistics for Perth to Melbourne car transport. As a car dealer, I usually transport 2 to 3 vehicles per week to my clients with this company, they do it safely.
