NCOP LA2 modification

Hi
I've been doing a bit of reading around the latest rules on light vehicle modification specifically in relation to performance engine replacement (with the intention of putting a new engine in my mk2) and it seems the rules have got a bit easier. Just wondering if anyone has any knowledge or experience of it.
As far as I can see the replacement engine can be up to 4xGVM in cc's so a stock escort weighing 920kg could have a 3.8L engine if the vehicle were to be engineered and provided with a LA2 certificate; provided it meets all the other requirements. There is no longer a maximum no of cylinders so that could be a v6 or v8. Is that right?
Cheers Nick

That's also my interpretation of it, you will need to call the DOT to confirm though, but the escorts key is its agility. Why the hell would you want such a heavy motor in the front throwing the delicate / sublime balance off.

You're right about the balance of the car and I wasn't necessarily thinking of slapping a big old v8 in there. I'm really interested in either k24a i4, duratec 2.5 i4 or duratec 3.0 v6. I read the maximum capacity comes down with turbo or supercharger.

No idea if any of them will fit but they are easy 200+hp with more available

It was vehicle weight x 2.5 for A/A, and weight x 3.0 for N/A, im not on my computer but if you were to look at the VSB14 it will be in their,

They really opened allot of mods up, just welded cages and bolt in with bends other than mass produced have been ruled out
