need some advice guys, not sure weather to buy another set of 13" rims and fit them with either the avon semi's i have or get a set of R spec 205/60r13's or buy a set of 195/50r15 R spec tyres and fit them to my 15x7 superlites Both options will require me to make removable shims up for my castor bar so i dont have to pull the front end apart when i change rims, just loosen main nut remove or add shims, secure shims so they dont drop out (not sure how yet), and retighten nut. Both the 195/50r15 and the 205/60r13 come in at about 575mm rolling diameter, but i know my 15's will fit with a little less castor not sure about a set of 13x7 wheels as most are a neg offset or near 0 which with my slightly wider diff may cause problems fitting a 205 under the back. any advice appreciated

Pretty big weekend just gone, decided to drive up to NSW for the Small Ford Car Club Concourse and Display day and the RS Owners Club of Australia concourse. All up i travelled around 1900km, left at 6 saturday morning and got home just after midnight sunday/monday. Based on some figures i took off random tanks of fuel i was getting about 9.6L /100km which considering the car sits on 110kmph at 3500+rpm i thought was pretty good. next time i go up i may run a slightly larger diameter tyre and or run a different diff ratio, it should in theory greatly increase my fuel economy. night driving on the hume = lots of dead bugs

Awesome effort Mish. Good work getting on up to both the shows. And glad you got back ok too. I'll stick a couple of pics of your car up once I get them loaded to the internets. Here you go.

Just an update of what ive been up to, getting stuck back into fitting up the cage. Only doing the back half at the moment so that the car remains easy to get in and out of as i may be using it daily again soon for a little while. a fair bit will be getting done over the next fortnight as i have entered a track day so the normal last minute rush will be on. also im playing with a new rear suspension setup to stiffen up the back of the car. so i will post photos up of that depending on how it all goes.

finally got to do abit more work to the car this weekend, after a bit of head scratching and such the rear prototype coilover setup is done. pretty happy with the result, car is heaps stiffer in the rear and can be adjusted by adding or reducing preload to the springs. the final mounting of the spring adjuster and cups using the clamps is not 100% what i wanted but was limited both by options and lack of engineering equipment to sort a better option. Also finally finished the rear section of the cage off today too. all painted and bolted in. next will be to mounts the front legs, side intrusion bars and roof bar. But that will be for in the new year.

Sorry mate no on car shots at the moment, Daryl, Pretty happy with how the cage fits up, its ment for a two door, but can be used for a 4 door. Only downside is you have to cut and weld the rear legs, cut the harness bar to width and cut the front legs and roof bar. so its not really a 100% bolt in cage.
