I predict you wont even make it back to the dyno with the box intact!

also we have some good news on the engine front,
no bent valves at all, was just a lash shim that somehow made its way off the end of the valve and got jammed on a angle holding the valve open.

together with my head and cams guy we have come to the conclusion of the valve being blow back open not in time with the cams due to excessive pressure between the valve and the turbo, as the other option which is valve bounce is highly unlikely due to only being revved to 7000 rpm.
as for the excessive pressure, im putting it down to the fact that in the past i know on full boost just as the car hit the revv limiter the car has a tendency to backfire out of the screamer pipe or in some cases blowing flames out of the full length exhaust, due to the extremely rich fuel mixture
so this may be a happening on the dyno as the fuel mixture is still way off what it should be.

so as of now the current fix is having all the lash adjusters loctited down. if this proves not to be successful a set of uprated exhaust valve springs may be needed.

more news:

engine is out, flywheel is being swapped out back to a std weight flywheel.
then new box will be refitted to bottom end and slotted back into car.

Head is on its return to me. Lash adjusters have been deleted, so hoping to never have any valve train issues again.

Also have been told that the oil i have been using is pretty rubbish and im getting it too hot, so on the lookout for a new brand and grade of oil to run through the motor, also looking at running an oil cooler but have realised im fresh out of space in the front of the car that receives any real airflow.

so ive been thinking about either running the oil cooler in the inner guard with a small (7inch) fan attached
or
cutting away the factory panel behind my mex spoiler and making up a frame to mount the spoiler off that will also attach the oil cooler, then drill a series of holes in the spoiler for air flow.

P.S cooler is a 300x150x50mm core

what are peoples opinions of both oils and the cooler location

have swapped back to a full weight steel flywheel and have swapped the conversion parts onto the new gearbox and its all back in the hole, still waiting on head, then its a mad rush to reassemble and have running, tuned by the RSOCvic Concourse day on the 23rd of Sep.

excuse my messing working conditions, had been a long week and wasnt really in the mood to be spending my friday night getting covered in smelling gbox oil, buts its all refitted now :) big thanks to my mate jye for lending the extra hands needed to refit the motor and box, and supplying the engine crane.

matt it'll be getting tuned as soon as it is back together, hopefully this time it will all be ok and ill get to drive this thing in anger again.

have already organised a supply of 13inch semi slicks to hopefully help this thing transmit 'some' power to the ground, and im also going to be fitting a dual stage boost control system so that i can turn the power tap down when cruising. to preserve tyres, gearbox's and my life.
