Hi all, I put the bid in for this car at $31100, missed out and he called me back we spoke for a couple of days and then a rang him and offered $32000 for the car which he accepted. We organised a $5000 dollar deposit which as I worked all day and he did not take it off Ebay or Gumtree made me nervous, anyway just as I was about to pay he sent me a message saying "sorry money not in sold it to a local guy" most upsetting. So would have been good at that price.
So as I was in Perth looked at the black one in Adelaide remember it being $22000 earlier so offered him $500 deposit to be returned if not as advertised. So flew from Perth to Adelaide on my way home to Sydney. When I got there first thing I noticed were humidity blisters all over the bonnet, the car still looked reasonable, then we opened the bonnet and their is like car under body paint through out the engine bay but quite obvious was a CK14 number on the front slam panel. The slam panel though had definitely been replaced and not a good job, the strut mounts are covered in thick bubbly paint so can't see a number there. It does have three bolt crossmember but the strengthening brackets from inner guard to the panel holding the compliance plates had been screwed on and the screws are hard to see from such thick paint.
Anyway it all looked and seemed not right to me I told him if we could expose the strut I might still consider it but without would offer far less. Anyway walked away from the deal still need my deposit to be refunded.
Finally does anyone have any info on the blue one in Glenwood that was apparently the wide bodied SVO it got up to around $8500 on Ebay and disappeared with at least 5 days to go, it was matching numbers apparently. Still looking for a good honest V6 if anyone has any ideas let me know. Keith

Re: the "wide bodied svo" car, never heard of one. I suspect it's a regular capri that's had the wheel arches flared at some point.

Hi you had to see the car, the wheel arches looked sort of weird and had to be made that way(not really but they were odd) I had no idea what they mean by SVO that started many years later. I can't find any info on it now but it was gone/sold this week and would love to know for how much.Keith

Sorry Mac1capri just left Perth. Dammit but sort of been in and out for six months and never looked or seen a Capri. Flooded one of the shopping centres their last week on the last job of the year so not to happy with that. But if you have a suggestion let me know. I have a Perana i bought this year love it but don't want to drive it, I bought a project V6 but after spending no time at home want something running and in good nick to enjoy, perfect example or daily runner I don't care I will love it to bits but it will never be the Perana. It will be enjoyed as much if not more. Keith
