I was under the impression megasquirt is more commonly used in the UK? So you may find not as many are familiar with it here in Aus. But thats not to say don't use it, I'm sure there a few who have used it and runs fine.

What id recommend is talking to a few local tuners at they recommend. At the end of the day unless your comfortable doing all the tuning yourself, its them that needs to know what they're working with.
There are numerous ecu's that can do the job your asking. From relatively cheap to mega expensive.

Seems that Haltech has a strong following with local tuners, giving decent price and features.

Previous thread might help you to..

i contacted the guys that make this system in regards to running a duratec.
they recommended the microsquirt and said it would be the way to go, it would do everything that was required in terms of tuning and would be a fair bit cheaper.
i haven't got my ignition sorted yet but would also be interested to know if anyone has used this system..

Of course they'd recommend their system. I was also recommended that system, but went with the system that has full Australian back up and there were lots of tuners in Sydney successfully using and tuning the EMS ECU. May be a little more expensive but I know there are at least half a dozen performance tuners in Sydney I could take it to if ever there was an issue.

I run an old ms2 extra on my pinto using falcon sensor, 36-1 trigger, commodore coil packs and bike TB's. Theres also an australian user group on the ms forum. Are you reviewing products or having setup issues?

Camo91 I've been running megasquirt for about 10 years on various engines. Had it on my Pinto as fuel only, controlling ignition with a dizzy and finally wasted spark with a crank wheel. Currently running it on the Zetec with wasted spark (EDIS) and throttle bodies. whats your question?

And Gazz Microsquirt isn't really the right ECU; its basically a repackaged Megasquirt intended to use on bikes etc which are tight on space. A regular megasquirt will be fine; you can start with a MS1 V3 and that will do eveything you need. MS2 up are options for down the track.
