Gen 2 springs are different GE to GTE, but in Gen 3, the springs were the same

if you dont want to change the ECU, you will never get the real benefit of modified cams. The factory ECU cannot 'learn" its ignition map is locked
Re: WTB STAGE 2 CAMS/spings/valves (P E T E)

just_Ace, from the look of it. Springs are the same between Gen 3 3sgte and Gen 3 3SGE. I'm curious to know if swapping the intake cam from the Gen3 3SGE -> Gen 3 3SGTE will make much difference. I've read you don't swap in the exhaust cam as it causes too much overlap and creates too much heat. Do you need to degree the cam if doing this, or can you just plug and play for some gain on a standard ECU.
Re: WTB STAGE 2 CAMS/spings/valves (dylmrt)

We supply GSC, Brian Crower and HKS cams and springs for the application you need. Therefore, such a change needs to go with gen 3 shim under or shimless buckets

the main reason to install longer duration/higher lift cams is to move the torque point upwards which means higher revs are needed to amke the extra power. rarely, if ever, do factory springs work with modified cams. You should always buy a spring suited to the cams
Re: WTB STAGE 2 CAMS/spings/valves (Gatesys SW20)

I will keep it in mind Jason,

And tassie I will do if I decide to chuck gen 3 cams in
Thank you!

Re: WTB STAGE 2 CAMS/spings/valves (tassietiger1971)

I have a set of GenIII cams out of a 3sge manual trans.
In:252 degree, 9.8mm lift, 7/65 timing
Ex:240 degree, 8.2mm lift, 53/7 timing.

PM me if your interested
Re: WTB STAGE 2 CAMS/spings/valves (jason_2901)

550 including postage

Re: WTB STAGE 2 CAMS/spings/valves (Gatesys SW20)

Jason how much were yours?
Re: WTB STAGE 2 CAMS/spings/valves (jason_2901)

thats alot of money!! im going to be using the new cams on stock springs
Re: WTB STAGE 2 CAMS/spings/valves (just_ace)

Mate of mine is using the bc cams in his gen2 turbo. 300awhp in his gt4 with a gt2860rs.

Re: WTB STAGE 2 CAMS/spings/valves (Reddtarga)

http://www.ebay.com/itm/BRIAN-CROWER-CAMSHAFTS-STAGE-2-264-Spec-Toyota-3SGE-3SGTE-/151009588465#ht_2586wt_1194

264's
They claim you can use the stock springs.
Has anyone on here used them?
Re: WTB STAGE 2 CAMS/spings/valves (jason_2901)

i recently dealt with clive cams (vic) for a new set of cams, awesome guys to deal with, great turn around time, really reasonable *cheap* price, make the cams to suit your motor, i bought a set of 258s with 9.5mm lift.

if you need any more info hmu

Jason
Re: WTB STAGE 2 CAMS/spings/valves (just_ace)

Stock ge is 244, turbo is 236.

But imho just go straight to 264, or look for some gen3 ge cams.
