(C Jay)

The gas is probably empty. You can get it re-gassed but I think that you have to convert to a different gas.
Re: 1991 MR2 Turbo A/C working but not cold?! (Reddtarga)

As mentioned, there could be any one of several things wrong with it.

If the A/C is working properly, you will hear the A/C clutch click in when you press the A/C button, and the engine revs will rise slightly. If you're out of gas this will not happen.

Re: 1991 MR2 Turbo A/C working but not cold?! (jlee165)

So I recently purchased a 1991 MR2 Turbo as mentioned above.
The car is mechanically sound, but as far as the electrical side of things go
you can tell that the previous owner didn't have a clue what he was doing.
There is a JVC dvd head unit installed in the car that hasn't even been connected
properly, and just under that fits the A/C head. When turning the A/C fan on, air
flows through the vents, although the air wont get cold, nor hot? Yes the ACON button
is on. Does anyone have a solution to this? It would be seriously appreciated as taking
this sort of stuff to a commercial mechanic cant be costly. CHEERS!
