(zmit)

Hey guys,
Haven't posted here for a while, but you get that.

I've had a Walbro pump in my gen 2 3SGTE for about 3 years now (April 2010). Over the last few weeks i've been hearing a bit of a whine coming from the front (ish) of the car. I thought it might have been the power steering.
There have been a few other things going on too. After replacing the turbo (exactly the same) I had disconnected the boost controller and it was running at about 8-9psi (Gen 3 ECU). Since then, it seems the boost has been... intermittent. I decided to hook up the boost controller again (MBC) and it boosted to 15.5psi once, but mostly around 9.5psi. I haven't been able to work out what's causing the inconsistency.

It only just occurred to me yesterday that it may be the fuel pump. Electrical/motor whine, inconsistent/low boost, now struggling at half throttle or more. Am i way off?

Has anyone else had any experience with failed fuel pumps, and if so, what happened?
