Forget about that one.

So its either 165 or 180 being from the Japanese market.

165KW Gen 2

180KW Gen 3

Re: WHAT MODEL IS THIS MR2? CT26 on turbo compressor.

Later (gen3) engine has no AFM, small sticker on plenum, plastic catch can, no TVIS (4 runners off plenum), ignition leads in plastic tube bolted to valve cover. Toyota on turbo compressor.

There are a few other items that escape me now.

Cheers
Re: WHAT MODEL IS THIS MR2? (jlee165)

All 91' turbo's come with 165kw stock? The car located on this page seems identical to the picture (Yes thats a stupid comparison), and is telling me the car has 200hp stock? This site here is telling me they are 111kw stock and a few of you are saying they are 165kw stock. Is there a way to be 100% sure what the specs are?
Sorry to be a pain
Re: WHAT MODEL IS THIS MR2? (Mrskylighter)

Your power figure is wrong. As Senor_2 mentioned they come with 165kw.

jlee165
Thanks for your answers so far!
I'm going to have a look at the MR2 tomorrow afternoon and I'll take a few shots of the engine bay so I can get more help. If the car is in good nick I would like to offer the guy cash for it.
Do you guys know of any things I can check to be 100% sure what type the engine the car has? Basically the car cant be over 125kt/t. (Yes, it's exemption time) Also, as most of you I assume are MR2 enthusiasts, what are some common signs of wear to check for?

So far these are the only figures I can find~

Power (P) = 200hp~149.13kw
Weight (W) = ~1200kg

kw/t= (P)/(W) * 1000
kw/t= 149.13/1200 * 1000
kw/t=124.275
:. is under 125kw/t. BIG THUMBS UP!

Are these figures correct, or am I dreaming? (Eric)

If youre going for the exemption, i believe you need a letter from toyota indicating the exact kurb weight and exact factory power output. If you just email toyta with the vin number and get the exact specs, which will allow you to get the exemtion.

Also I believe that it has to be pretty stock engine wise as cops wont like you upgrading it
Re: WHAT MODEL IS THIS MR2?
