I think 1994 onwards they are a bit more.

Not seeing the car, and not knowing the SA market I would say anywhere from the $1500-$3000 mark. I could be being quite optimistic for you as many people stay away from higher km cars.

If I was in your position, I would try and source a known working second hand gearbox and get that installed.
1992 toyota mr2 nonturbo price check (Seejay)

So I own a 1992 toyota MR2 and due to needing money, I may have to sell it.
It's done 440,xxx kms but has had an engine rebuild about 50,000km ago, brand new paint job about 4 months ago, and brand new tint put on it (darkest legal) about a week ago.
It does have one problem, the sincro's on the gearbox are going, second gear crunches if you change it too fast. I was originally going to get a whole gearbox rebuild which was quoted at $2,800 but I don't have that kind of money to spend on it.

Other than the gearbox, the car is in great condition, and was wondering what the going price would be?
I've looked on carsales and gumtree, but there aren't any 1992 models for sale at all, so I have absolutely no idea!

I did have plans to fix it up and keep it as my own (as seen above), but it looks like that dream is long gone...

I'm located in SA if that helps at all.

Thanks!
