After you buy a second hand one then gamble on it not having the syncro's worn (big gamble), its worth fixing the original unit.

Re: LSD and clutch recommendations for Gen 2 3S-GE? (Randomity)

cheers, I didn't think of getting a Gen 3 box. I expect NA ones will be a little harder to find. eBay is swamped with turbo ones, but that's not much use to me...

I was think of just a stock Exedy, but the engine has a decent amount of torque, so maybe a heavy duty one would be the best bet.

Quaife was my other option, which would be kinda cool, but cash is the key here
we'll see how it goes

Thanks for the advice :)
Re: LSD and clutch recommendations for Gen 2 3S-GE? (Randomity)

Hey guys, my clutch is on its way out, and I figure I may as well get the gearbox rebuilt (3rd crunches sometimes) and get an LSD installed while I'm at it. It'll save a ton in labour down the track when both give way.

I was wondering what people would recommend for both a replacement clutch (doesn't need to be heavy duty, car's pretty stock) and what kind/brand of LSD?

any advice is greatly appreciated :)

Cheers!
