(artymr2)

did you swap the gen3 engine wiring loom over? If so and if it is similar to the turbo versions, it could be the same issue I had going gen 2 to 3 with 3stge, one of the wiring plugs in the engine bay fuse box, where the engine loom plugs in o the body loom, you will probably find that one of the wire locations needs a power feed. ie the eingine loom has the ignition power wire, but the car part does not have a power feed in that pin. worth a check and easy to do.

Also make sure the coil etc are mounted properly, I was told they are earthed through the chassis.

Cheers
Re: gen2 to gen3 swap, not running no spark!! (Tree)

ECU is usually pretty hardy and yeh use the Gen 3 one. It's normally the wiring that is the tricky bit. You can open it up to check the board isn't fried. Otherwise sent it to an electrician but before that:
Mechanically, you wanna check
Spark - plugs, coil, wires, dizzy in good condish
Air - check vacuum leaks
Fuel - listen if fuel pump is working

I have gen 2 diagram i think, check this link
https://dl.dropboxusercon...GE_WIRING_DIAGRAMS.pdf
Re: gen2 to gen3 swap, not running no spark!! (Gatesys SW20)

Not sure what your problem could be, dodgy coil pack?
Or is there no power traveling at all to the coil?

But my question is
How much was your bill
I'm thinking of doing something similar
But luckily I work at toyota so I can get mates rates so to speak

But was just wondering for reference

gen2 to gen3 swap, not running no spark!! (mayheMr2)

Hey guys, I recently had my sw20 gen2 3sge engine/loom/ECU replaced with gen3 3sge.

My mechanic has encountered a problem where the car wont start due to no spark, and no power getting to the ignition coil.

Originally we were attempting to use my old gen2 ECU to run the car, But then realised it would be easier to Use the gen3 ECU. I recently bought an NA ECU for a gen3 from a forum user here, and hes guaranteed me that the ECU is in working order.

also wondering about the 4-wire plug coming off the engine loom, it doesnt appear to lead to anything, and is a new addition on the gen3. Wondering if its for the speedo-drive?

Is there a specific way to check if the ECU is in good condition? and does anyone have access to gen2/gen3 engine wiring diagrams?

much appreciated if anyone can offer help
